This can lead to a ‘basic’ feel, appearing harsh over bumps &/or ‘mushy’ on smooth roads. YSS Fork Valves add progressive action to the damping allowing forks to respond quickly to high-speed movement (like hitting a pothole) while giving a controlled feel during gentle travel on gentle undulations. This gives the fork a taut feel without loss of comfort. And allowing the fork to respond correctly to different surfaces keeps the tyre on the road reducing braking distances and improving steering feel.

The valves come in sizes suitable for most fork tubes and fit between the damper rod and fork spring. It may be necessary to enlarge the compression orifice of the damper rod when fitting. While these can be a DIY fit, they are most suitable the professional workshop. The valves come preset according to the fork size, but fine-tuning of the valve is possible.
