It’s quick & simple to assess battery charge & state of health on or off the vehicle, whether it’s a scooter, bike, car or LCV. The Skan Best is designed for use with 12 & 24v standard wet, gel, AGM & EFB battery types. It can also be used on Lithium batteries using the gel setting. With the ability to test bike batteries up to 40A capacity & 600 CCA & 100A & 2000 CCA on cars & LCV’s you’ll be able to analyse every common battery. All results can be printed, giving you or your customer a hard copy. It’s also a great feature when maintaining records for activated batteries kept in stock.
The features don’t stop there. The Skan Best can also be used to investigate starting & generator performance. Generator tests on bikes will give approximate values at 5000rpm. These features allow you to gain a quick insight into any problems, using just positive & earth connections, without further disassembly.
We also offer the JMP Skan 8 workshop charger- the perfect companion to the Skan Best. It’s a 12v dual rate charger suitable for standard wet, gel, AGM, EFB & Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries up to 160Ah. It has 4 specific charging programs, plus a special ‘Recon’ mode for recovering heavily discharged lead-acid batteries.
The standout feature of the Skan 8 is the 13.8v supply mode. This allows you to maintain full battery voltage when performing extended electrical & electronic diagnosis, where you need to keep the ignition on, engine off, but not suffer low battery voltage that can throw up fault codes or inhibit diagnosis.
The Skan 8 comes with a set of battery fly leads & crocodile clip leads giving 2m length plus a 2m long power cord. It’s an essential for any bike or automotive workshop. A range of accessories including Ducati & ODB charging leads are also available.
